Irish Woodturners
Joe Laird Joe Laird pieces are rarely planned in advance - instead, he likes the wood to determine the final piece, often using the wood's natural qualities and idiosyncrasies to enhance the visual and aesthetic appeal of the finished item.
Niall Cahill Naill creates functional and non-functional bowls and one-of-a-kind woodturnings and other hollow forms mostly from local indigenous trees with character and versatility.
Kieran Higgins The majority of Kieran's work consists of relatively large pieces in a variety of forms and timbers. He describes them as 'non functional pieces with a rustic feel'. The finished piece often highlights the timber's natural defects (shakes, cracks, decay, knots) and retains some of its natural edge.
Rob Howe Rob is a great believer in using native grown wood and where possible, use storm felled trees. "I try to incorporate gentle curves and simple flowing lines, which draw the eye into my work and try to involve the other senses in one-off pieces."
Hilary Hale Usually working with storm-felled, locally-grown timber, Hilary produces a variety of turned items including lamps, hollow forms, bottle stoppers, bowls and platters.
Signature Platters Guest Book Signature Platters are a unique, personalized way to preserve your special event. Rather than relegating guests signatures to a paper wedding guest book, signature plates get displayed as a wonderful keepsake memento.
